Oriental Cabbage Salad




½ head cabbage - chopped coarse slaw style

1 ½ tablespoons vinegar

1 ½ tablespoons rice wine vinegar

1/8 cup vegetable oil

1/8 cup sesame oil

½ cup sugar (Mom - I never used this much and also have used honey)

½ teaspoon salt

1 package chicken flavored Ramen noodles (Mom - I like Oriental flavor better or Emma’s own spice blend instead!)

3 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted

½ cup almonds, slivered and toasted

3 green onions, chopped


Combine vinegars, oils, sugar, salt, and seasoning package from noodles. Combine cabbage, sesame seeds, almonds, and onions in bowl. Pour dressing over mixture and toss. Best if combined right before eating.
